What is better, beard oils or beard balms? & What are the benefits of beard oil vs. balm? And best practice.

The short answer is, It all depends on your needs and essentially the length of your beard. Beard balm is more for styling and conditioning your beard when it's long. While beard oil is more for basic beard care and to stop irritation from stubble or short hair. Both products condition and lock in moisture for your beard and your skin underneath, whilst protecting it from the elements, and leaving it smelling awesome throughout the day.

Beard Balms

The best beard balms out there will be an all-in-one moisturiser and conditioner specifically designed for beard hair and your skin, whilst also aiding in styling your beard into shape. It is especially helpful for people who want to moisturise and style their beard, with a light to medium hold. Beard oils can also be used in conjunction with a balm to help penetrate deeper into the undergrowth of your beard, soothing your skin and nourish your hair follicles.

Beard Oils

Beard oil is essentially a daily moisturiser like beard balm, that moisturises your skin under your beard and softens the hair and helps prevent breakages, without the same degree of styling as beard Balm, that's why it is recommended for beards of a short length. Beard oil is especially helpful during the first couple of months of beard growth when itching can be a problem.

How to use beard oils.

Best Practice

Many men swear by, including me, wash your beard with beard soap, then, when your beard is towel dry, warm up a few drops of beard oil in the palm of your hand and apply to your beard, ensure each hair is coated by using a beard comb, leave it for 5 minutes to get that oil fully soaked into the hair. Then, apply a beard balm to style into shape and lock in the moisture from root to tip.

Repeat these steps every day and you will notice the difference, and your partner will too.

Our beard balms & oils contain natural ingredients that are chosen for their moisturising sealant properties, are similar to your own natural body oils and work with your skin and hair to prevent irritation and breakage while leaving your beard soft, smooth, deodorized and smelling awesome throughout the day.
